The best darn piece of rock and roll memorabilia can buy. It's the West End (Long Branch) cottage where Bruce Springsteen wrote the entire Born to Run album in 1974-1975.
Bruce has spoken often about living here, including the documentary "Wings for Wheels, The making of Born to Run" released in 2005 on the 30th anniversary of it's re-mastered release. In the documentary, Bruce returns to 7 1/2 West End Court and reminisces about writing Thunder Road, Born to Run, Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, Backstreets, She's the One and Jungleland.
The 5 room, 2 bedroom, 1 Bath cottage is bigger than it looks at 828 square feet because of the high ceilings. It is just 120 feet from beach access. It has a front porch, small fencd yard and patio. It is built in the traditional Southern "Shot gun" style. The lot is 25 x 95, Zoned commercial-residential (C-3) so anything from a restaurant, 4 story office building, etc. is allowable in the zone. Of course, we would love to see the house maintained as an important piece of rock & roll history.
It is listed at $349,900.
What's it worth? It's priceless :-)
